Extra Joss is one kind of energy drink products which produced by PT. BINTANG TUJUH. Extra Joss is a phenomenal product in Indonesia. Every one know what is it and where we can buy this one. Extra joss are use to keep our healthy, protect the body and help metabolism. The main function of extra joss is to increase our energy.

Consumer of Extra Joss prefer to consumptions this product because we just need to spent of Rp. 1000,- to get its sensation from drinking this product. Its very cheap for us if we compare with this function. Besides the function they choose Extra joss because they are familiar and easy to use. It make perception that
“they can’t works before consumptions extra joss”. It very influence their behavior in using a products. When they fell tired, they also use extra joss to make their body feel better. In along time ago when the competitor not yet exist, many people has used extra joss. It makes extra joss more compete than the other.

Finally, I think the targeted market of Extra Joss is already suitable, the most target market of Extra Joss is manual labor and athlete because Indonesian population are consist of many kind of people like that. For suggestion, I’ll just give a little opinion about the product. Extra joss must keep their image to increase consumer in Indonesia. Does Indonesian KFC also has the scholarship propgram and the other program? Who control the types of menus and social programs in Indonesia? What kind of relation that exists between KFC in Indonesia and the KFC in the American headquarters?

Before I answer the question From Mr. Sugeng, I will give you short History from KFC Indonesia. How KFC Indonesia was Established and who the Indonesian KFC Brand owner.

KFC INDONESIA HISTORY

PT. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk. Is a company which established by Gelael Group in 1978, and after Salim Group joined in 1990, PT Fast food Indonesia Tbk goes to public . PT. Fastfood Indonesia TBK start first restaurant operation in October 1979 early from bookkeeping of first restaurant in Jalan Melawai, Jakarta. The Success of this first foreign QSR ( Quick Service Restaurant) make the owner try to expand the restaurant. As single owner of KFC in Indonesia, PT. Fastfood Indonesia Tbk continue to develop the KFC brand, and with 26 years of success experience in this job, made him be the dominant KFC market leader of fast food restaurant and very popular in Indonesia. KFC Indonesia get authority to innovate as according to market condition during do not far from standard taste and service of KFC International. Usage of logo, symbol and colors of KFC must uniform with KFC headquarters, but KFC Indonesia (PT. Fasfood Indonesia) enabled to design their style or themes and their program for KFC Indonesia restaurant as they wants or needs. For example, KFC in RATU PLAZA which popular in youngster music atmosphere. Definitive, every month KFC Indonesia pay initial fee for $ 35-40 thousand from total sale in every KFC restaurant.

To keep quality of product and taste in all KFC Indonesia restaurant, FFI (PT. Fastfood Indonesia) still keep standard from KFC headquarters. The chicken flavors, like original recipe of colonel sanders, still import from US (United Stated). For chicken, FFI rely on 18 big suppliers which have blasting system ( a freeze machine for chicken which able for many amount in 40 minute). Besides that, the frying process is very tight.

FFI always monitor their standardizations trough quality assurance team ( standard team from KFC International) divided to 7 regional in Indonesia. Each regional check each restaurant, start from chicken supply, flavor, until finished. Besides quality, product innovation is important. KFC Indonesia always release 2-3 new menus every year which adapted for the condition of Indonesia market. The FFI thinks that Indonesia market different with US. Consumer in Indonesia wants warm restaurant, with sofa, and “branded” .


What kind of relation that exists between KFC in Indonesia and the KFC in the American headquarters?

I don’t know exactly, but as I know KFC Indonesia just relation with KFC headquarters in supply standard flavor. For information, KFC Indonesia pay the initial fee per store to owner of brand, Yum!, equal to US$ 35 thousand. Besides that, FFI even also pay royalty fee 6,6% from FFI per year income.


My Opinion

After reading the KFC Information above, we know that KFC Indonesia also have same program with KFC US but they have different concept. So, the successfulness of KFC Indonesia do not only fully influencing by successfulness of KFC International. They just give standard flavor, but for the business of marketing, they remain to self innovation . Successfulness of KFC Indonesia is become from FFI concept and their consistency to do their job . So, YUM! Have to say thank you to FFI because they made KFC more great and popular than other franchise restaurant in Indonesia. (Reza, 2008)

Have you ever seen and heard KFC in your life? I thing all of you know about KFC. KFC or Kentucky Fried Chicken is one of the biggest chicken restaurant in the world which was established by Mr Harland Sanders in Kentucky, USA more than 78 years ago. When established, KFC was a small restaurant in the front room of gas station and called "Sanders Court and Cafe". on this year, young Sanders served as station operator, chief cook and cashier and KFC not popular as well as now. In 1937,"Sanders Court and Cafe", has been recognized by people for the service and his cuisine. After that, in 1966 Mr. Sanders changed his restaurant names from "Sanders Court and Cafe" to KFC and goes to public. Now you can see the great KFC in every town in more than 80 countries with over 11.000 restaurants spread over in the world and producing more than 300 other products beside chicken foods.
During the time, KFC not just promoted great food but also education and animal welfare too, for examples the KFC Colonels Scholars Program for High School Students wich wants to finished their university education and YUM! brands is committed to humane treatment of animals. That the proof that KFC has responsibility to save our environment beside get a profit from their business.
